Miami Has Paddling Trails Too!

Believe it or not, North Miami, Florida is the site of the largest urban urban park in the state of Florida.  Oleta River State Park provides recreational yakkers and other outdoor enthusiasts a place to focus on and get away from it all without really leaving town.  This is a really great place for bikers too with over 15 miles of trails.  Kayakers and canoeists can paddle the Oleta River and see a nice mangrove forest with plants and animals native to South Florida.  A concession stand which is open from 9 am until about 1½ hours before sunset rents kayaks, canoes and bicycles if you don’t feel like packing in your own gear.  Call 305-919-1844 for more info of visit http://www.floridastateparks.org/oletariver
